Poetry & Music Evening: John Hegley, Susan Richardson & Three Cane Whale
Event Information
Description
A magical evening of poetry and music with John Hegley, Susan Richardson and Three Cane Whale.
John’s performances involve comedy, tragedy, travesty, poignancy and pictures of Daleks drawn, not well, by headteachers. His selection of songs and poems will be drawn largely from Peace, Love & Potatoes, which will be available at some point, for author mutilation.
Susan’s vibrant and entertaining eco-poetry performance includes work on green themes from her most recent collections, Creatures of the Intertidal Zone and Where the Air is Rarefied, as well as some of her specially-commissioned poetry for BBC 2 and Radio 4.
Bristol’s multi-instrumental acoustic trio, Three Cane Whale, brings together Alex Vann (Spiro), Pete Judge (Get the Blessing) and Paul Bradley (Fleur Darkin Ensemble). As intricate as a team of watchmakers, as spare as a mountain stream, the music encompasses both a cinematic sweep and an intimate delicacy.
