Description

Learn to express yourself in poetry with this highly interactive workshop with Royal Literary Fund fellow Alyson Hallett. The session will include writing exercise, poetry criticism and the opportunity to write a poem.

Suitable for those taking their first steps in poetry as well as the more experienced writer.

ALYSON HALLETT’s poetry books include On Ridgegrove Hill, Suddenly Everything and The Stone Library. She has also published short stories and had drama broadcast on Sky and BBC Radio 4. Alyson’s PhD research – Geographical Intimacy – has been published and her essay for BBC Radio 3 on Chalk is available on iPlayer. Alyson collaborates with artists, sculptors and musicians and has been curating the poetry and public art project The Migration Habits of Stones for the past 16 years. She gives readings and runs workshops nationally and internationally. Most recently, she was invited to present her work on migrating stones at Loyola Marymount University, Los Angeles.
