This set of three poetry workshops with explore the themes of home, relationships and parenthood, framed with the North Devon landscape, or wherever home is to participants. We will be focussing on creative writing as a practise, generating material using sensory explorations and building to an optional showing of our work at the end of the third session. Writers are welcome to attend for single sessions, however, as this is a building process, it would be beneficial to attend all three. We will also be highlighting the importance of self-care in the creative industry.
These sessions will be run by Nayomie James, of Unexplored Places Theatre Co, who is now based in North Devon after living and working as an actor and dramaturg for 9 years in London. As well as undertaking multiple roles in professional and fringe stage productions locally and working remotely as a writer herself on a project with Paines Plough: Nayomie has also previously worked with Lizzie Humber of the Daylight Collective and poets L B Rousseau, Kate Massey-Chase and Liv Torc.
