This extraordinary event will also be hosting a poetry workshop by Tyne and Esk distinguised poet, Colin Will. An opportunity for budding poets to express their interest in joining the poetry groups. Colin will be joined with a number of exceptional poets from East Lothian. James Brannan will be at hand to talk about writing and drama which is popular in the area.
We are also joined by enterprising and entertaining poet Harry Giles of Inky Fingers Edinburgh: Words and Performance to MC the event. Talented young writers Rachel McCrum and Katherine McMahon will be there leading with other Inky favourites joining them too.
Johnni Stanton of the Craigmillar Writers Group, pioneer of community poetry will also be in attendance with his brilliant poetic renditions. He will bring along his talented Craigmillar poets many of whom have only performed once and for some for the first time on the 3 June.
Distinguised supporters will be amongst the audience including artist Andrew Crummy and Angela Wrapson, Chair of StAnza International Poetry Festival in St. Andrews. StAnza is also a supporter to outreach communities. Eleanor Livingstone, Director of StAnza performed recently at our Global Conditioning Event in Craigmillar, Edinburgh. Top performance poet Milton Balgoni also performed at our last event. This time there will be more surprise guest poets popping in to the "Goth" to introduce themselves and hopefully recite their well known work too. Names still to be confirmed. Possibility also, if time permits, a mini open mic session when anyone can join in and recite a poem. Keep watching this space for updates!
