Polari at The RVT
Event Information
About this event
Hosted by Paul Burston with special guests Cerys Evans and the legendary Adèle Anderson!
A singer and actress, Adèle Anderson is best known as one third of legendary comedy singing trio Fascinating Aida. She has also appeared on stage and screen in a variety of roles. She has often been cast as a trans woman - a role for which she is eminently qualified. She recently appeared in The Romanoffs on Amazon Prime and has a new one woman show Love, Hate and Everything In Between at Above the Stag on June 13.
She has appeared at Polari twice before - once as a reader at the Southbank Centre and once as a singer at Polari In Heaven. Tonight she'll be reading and in conversation with Paul Burston, whom she's known since they were both practically children.
Writer Cerys Evans has performed spoken word at The Barbican, the Thrive HIV Foundation and at Polari on tour in Cardiff and Brighton and at the Southbank Centre. Her other credits include writing for Psychologies Magazine and for several years she acted as a judge for the Polari First Book Prize.
She last appeared at Polari In Heaven in February 2020, where she performed an extract from her solo show, A Trans Fairy Tale.
Doors open at 6pm.
