 Debbie Simpson: Building Safer Communities through Stronger Partnerships


Debbie Simpson was appointed Deputy Chief Constable with Dorset Police in October 2011, transferring from Devon and Cornwall Constabulary.

 Her key areas of responsibility include Force Strategy, Strategic Performance and Productivity, Policy, Public Confidence and Strategic Diversity, Professional Standards and Contact Management.

 Mark Norris: Opportunities for improving Partnership working in the new arrangements

 Mark Norris is a senior adviser at the Local Government Association (LGA) having joined the LGA in September 2007. He has worked on police and crime commissioners related policy for the LGA for the last three years. Prior to joining the LGA, Mark worked in parliament as an adviser for a national political party on local government matters, and before that worked for the London Borough of Lambeth for seven years.

TRAVEL INFORMATION: There is a pay and display car park opposite the main entrance of the Dorford Centre however this will be extremely busy on the day of the conference due to the Dorchester market.  We strongly recommend coming by train or using the Park and Ride scheme. 

 By Train

 Directions from Dorchester South train station (approx. 10 minutes walk)

 Walk to the end of the road and turn right onto Weymouth Avenue, turn left and go down Fairfield Road, turn right down Cornwall Road, with Borough gardens on right, follow this road up to the Top o’ Town roundabout, the Dorford Centre is here.

 By Park and Ride- £1 a day, takes you from Dorchester Town Football Club to the County Library

 Directions from the County Library (approx. 5 minutes walk)

 Head to the Top o’ Town roundabout, the Dorford Centre is here.

**Please note the Dorford Centre is part of the Dorchester Baptist Church premises.
