Event description

Description

Policing plays a pivotal role in the life of any city, perhaps especially so in the complex, multicultural cities of today.

How do the police deal with the challenges of policing the City of Leicester? How do they promote community cohesion? How do they deal with the challenges presented by changing patterns of crime and risk? How does the reducing budget for public services impact on policing in partnership? Can the practices and experiences in Leicester serve as a model that other cities could follow?

The event will also tackle other issues such as the Police development and promotion of Police officers and staff , police canteen culture, stop and search and the Prevent initiative.

Leicestershire Police Chief Constable Simon Cole offers his personal and professional insight on policing the multicultural city.

More importantly, this event offers YOU the chance to contribute to the debate about the sort of policing Leicester city and county need.
