As early and mid-career researchers at UCL, it is essential to understand the importance of policy engagement and to be aware of its practical aspects.

In the first part of the seminar Dr. Masuma Mishu will discuss the why it is important to understand engagement and common barriers faced by early and mid-career researchers in policy engagement.

In the second part of the seminar, international speaker Professor Arup Ratan Choudhury will discuss his successful policy engagement examples in tobacco control policy in Bangladesh. Professor Choudary is an eminent clinician and researcher and also a tobacco control policy advocate and member of the National Drug Control Board and the National Task Force for Tobacco Control, Bangladesh.

After the presentations, the floor will be open for Q&A and discussion.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be served and there will be networking opportunities before and after the main seminar.
