Event description
Complement your knowledge on working with Parliament - join this online training session on how to engage with Government as a researcher

About this Event

Parliament and Government are separate institutions, with different ways for researchers to engage with each. To complement your knowledge about working with Parliament, join this focused, practical online training session to explore how research evidence and expertise is used by Government and how you as a researcher can engage.

This training session features speakers from across UK Government, sharing ideas and advice for experts to work with Government. It also explores how this relates to research use at the UK Parliament.

It is hosted by the UK Parliament's Knowledge Exchange Unit with expert speakers from UK Government. The session is focused on practical information and advice, with opportunities for Q&A.

Please note there is a short pre-requisite activity for this session of no more than 10 minutes; you will receive details of this with your joining instructions.

As a result of the training you will:

• Understand how some different parts of Government use research evidence and expertise

• Be able to identify and take up opportunities to feed your expertise into the work of Government

• Be aware of how research use at Government relates to research use at the UK Parliament

• Know where to go for further support

The session will be recorded and available to watch on the UK Parliament website afterwards.
