The Policy profession in Defra is running Policy Homeschool , delivering a dose of Policy L&D straight to your mailbox!
About this event
Each week of HomeSchool is aligned to one of the pillars of the Policy Professional Development Framework. We will send you an email Monday morning (9-11) with a variety of material exploring different policy making skills, tools and techniques related to that week’s Policy Pillar. The learning will consist of a blend of reading, interactive learning, podcasts, webinars and videos. You can complete the learning in your own time and it will on average take 2-3 hours over the span of a week. You can complete it in the week assigned for it, or at a later date. We will send you a reminder so that you can easily access the learning instead of digging through your mailbox.
This week will focus on the Analysis and Use of Evidence Pillar of the framework. Analysis and use of evidence involves investigating, assessing and advising on the political and practical implications of government policy using evidence and ideas from a wide range of sources to meet required outcomes.
The week will cover the following;
- Intro to the Pillar, Evaluation and Learning Journal
- Knowledge of Policy Making and Framing
- Statistics & Data Analysis
- Science & Technology
- Economics
Please note that you must have a defra.gov.uk or Defra ALB email address to book.
