SLUT OR NUT

Director: Kelly Showker; Original version; Canada 2018; Length: 70min

When Mandi Gray reported her rape, she was not prepared for what was to come. The public and the media expected her to behave like a victim. But Mandi turned the tables. It demonstrated strength and aggressively went public, denouncing the judiciary and the media. She became a "cult figure for victims of sexual assault" in Canada. The documentary combines Mandi's video diary, animations, stories of other victims and court analysis into a powerful complete work. The intimate film deals radically with prejudices and shows the failure of a system. A must for anyone living in the #metoo era. The film premiered in May 2018 at HotDoc's Toronto.

"I think that's important for everybody. We've made the most of what's best for you. Alternately, the film is being used to demonstrate the meaning of the report. "(Mandi Gray)

MONTAGS IN DRESDEN

Director: Sabine Michel; Original language with English subtitles; Germany 2018; Length: 83min

They are called René, Sabine, Daniel - three out of thousands who go through Dresden each Monday as "Patriotic Europeans against the Islamization of the West". They call "We are the people!". They demand "Merkel has to go!". The director Sabine Michel has accompanied them for over a year - on her demonstrations and in her everyday life. MONDAYS IN DRESDEN is not a film about PEGIDA, it asks about the private reasons for the patriotic uproar, a film about real and absurd fears of the present. The film is a plea for functioning democracy.

"No other film was discussed at Leipzig's Dokfilm Festival as follows: Mondays in Dresden by Grimme Prize winner Sabine Michel celebrated their premiere there - and aroused a huge echo."
