Event description
Meet Scotland's environmental campaign groups, and find out more about their tactics and priorities. How will you take action?

About this Event

With the declaration of a climate emergency by the Scottish Government, it is more clear than ever that political action is a key part of any response to climate change. The importance of climate change to members of the public has grown significantly, and the climate strike movement has demonstrated the young people’s desire for action. To help educate young people about different ways in which they can make political change, 2050 Climate Group presents Part 2 of our “Political Speed-Dating” series of events.

This "Action Time" event will showcase the various environmental campaigning organisations working across Scotland to tackle climate change and other environmental issues, and show how young people can get involved. After a short introduction, attendees will move around the room in small groups, meeting representatives from each campaign organisation in turn. This will give you the opportunity to have casual discussions and ask questions - the aim being for you to find out how you can take action on climate change through camapigning and volunteering.

We are delighted to confirm attendance from:

Marine Conservation Society

Get Glasgow Moving

RSPB (Royal Society for the Protection of Birds)

Friends of the Earth Scotland

With further organisations still to be announced.
