Event description

Description

Join us in the Department of Politics and International Relations at the University of Reading on Tuesday April 25 at 5pm to meet our latest 'Political Voice'. This time it's not just an MP but a man who was, until very recently, a whole Parliamentary Political Party in the form of Douglas Carswell. Now, of course, he has unshackled himself from UKIP and sits as the Independent MP for Clacton. With a new book - Rebel - How to Overthrow the Emerging Oligarchy - and plenty to talk about in terms of Brexit, the future of UKIP and even such issues as proportional representation, the recent terror attack in Westminster and the populist surge on both sides of the Atlantic, this is an event you won't want to miss.

Douglas will be sharing his thoughts and answering questions - with plenty of opportunity for audience interaction - and will also be on hand after the main event to sign copies of his new book in conjunction with our onsite bookshop partners, Blackwell's Reading.
