Description

Join us as we host a live radio panel show broadcast from Fircroft College.

The Diferent Anglez of Society Show is a politics and current affairs show which explores different angles of society and is driven by listener participation. The show consists of interviews with local and national politicians, key organisational decision makers and community influencers.

The DifferentAnglez show features #PoliticsFreestyle, a live audience monthly panel show working in partnership with cross sector organisations and collectives of individuals.

The show will focus on a case study of the Black Lives Matter movement, the links between community education, critical thinking and social action.

We will explore issues including:

Decolonising the curriculum, dual professions (Practitioner activists / Activist practitioners);

The challenges and opportunities of consciousness raising and critical thinking for students;

The role of positive action, spaces of identity, and allies in social movements.

Panel Members will include:

Dr Kehinde Andrews (Associate Professor of Sociology at Birmingham City University)

Tippa Naphtali (Community Development Practitioner and Campaign Activist)

Lisa Robinson and Natalie Jeffers (UK Black Lives Matter)

Paul Ryan (Fircroft College Tutor)
