Event description

Description

‘ We Inhabit a polluted garden.

Even the most pristine landscapes experience the effects of pollution from thousands of miles away. One of the biggest contributors to climate change is the fashion industry.
Over 15 million tonnes of textile waste going to landfill each year.
Pollution is destroying our planet.

Killing plants, animals and fellow humans with life-threating diseases.

Like the miracles of mother nature, trees and plants that naturally remove polluting chemicals from the air, purifying our atmosphere.

We must find innovative ways to reuse unwanted materials, preventing more from going to landfill. We must be as circular as the orbits of our universe.’ - Erin Laurel Hayhow

EIRINN HAYHOWis a gender-fluid, high-vibe clothing brand, with each garments salvaged with love, from unwanted materials. Creative Director and brand owner Erin Laurel Hayhow has curated waste-free catwalks at National Galleries in the UK and Soho House Berlin, in her protest to make changes to the fast fashion industry. She will be launching her new collection and first Solo Show at the Boiler House, Brick Lane, London on Saturday, April 25th, collaborating with their ‘let’s slow down’ sustainable fashion event to kick start ‘fashion revolution’ week.

Collaborating with the Pilgrims hospice charity, Erin has reimagined their waste materials into one-off pieces in her new ready-to-wear collection. With each garment named after a plant or tree that helps reduce pollution in our atmosphere, Erin will send each ‘flower’ down the catwalk in her fight for a sustainable future for our planet.

The Boiler House is a venue putting action and innovation for social change at the forefront. With an online hub to complement an extensive events program, we aim to rewrite the narrative of today’s newsfeed by reimagining the future and inspiring creativity, imagination and innovation in response to the Climate Emergency.
