Event description

Description

In May 1949 Portsmouth FC were champions of England for the first time. The Pompey History Society has organised a 70th anniversary dinner, with a 1940s twist, to commemorate the triumph. At the iconic Queens Hotel in Southsea, guests will dine according to the menu of the original 1949 title celebration dinner, as well as dancing the night away with Company B and The Swing Band. With surprise guests and a five course meal - including a 'champagne' reception - the event promises to be on of the highlights of the summer. Gold tickets are priced at £65 and Platinum ticket - extremely limited - are £110. The Platinum tickets will allow guests to travel on a vintage bus from Fratton park to the venue, recreating the 1949 route taken by the team. 1940s dress recommended to get right in the mood.
