About this event
Join Poorna Bell and Salma El-Wardany to celebrate the publication of their recent releases In Case of Emergency and These Impossible Things.
Poorna’s novel In Case of Emergency focuses on Bel, who wakes up in hospital after a dangerous accident and realises she should reconnect with the most important people from her past. It explores themes of self-realisation, family duty, adult friendships and reassessing what you want from your life as you enter into your 30s and beyond. Salma’s debut These Impossible Things explores themes of love, loss and faith in perceptive, compassionate prose, El-Wardany's beautifully crafted debut charts the ever-shifting relationships between three British Muslim women.
