Event description
Explore the exciting process of gelatine plate monoprinting with a pop art theme.

About this Event

Explore the exciting process of gelatine plate monoprinting with a pop art theme on this 3 hour workshop.

You will learn how to use water based inks, stencils, magazine images and textures to create your own pop art style prints onto paper. You’ll come away with a series of layered monoprints using the gelatine plate and various techniques.

Printing using gelatine plates is a fun, colourful and instant way to create monoprints and ideal to continue at home without needing a press.

Who is the course for?

The workshop will suit beginners and those with some previous printmaking experience. Those with an understanding of printmaking can use the workshop to learn a new skill to add to their practice.

Do I need to bring anything?

All materials are included. Students can bring magazine images and ideas. Please note not all magazines print using this method, there will be magazine images that will print at the workshop to use if they do not.

Your Tutor

Bobshaped is an artist and facilitator based in West Yorkshire. Pattern, repeats, layers, colours, nature, technology, craft, packaging, architecture and process are some of the things that inform her work. Sometimes there is a bit of humour thrown in for good measure.

Working Safely

We have made some changes to ensure everyone feels confident and safe to come and join in without fear of catching Coronavirus. Our courses are running with fewer participants and a larger space to allow plenty of room for social distancing. In line with government guidance we are also requesting that students attend with a mask or face covering.

We hope that being able to immerse yourself with something creative will help to restore a sense of wellbeing and hopefulness as we navigate the ‘new normal’.

If you have any concerns or specific requirements regarding attending a course please feel free to get in touch with us by emailing info@the-arthouse.org.uk.

Course Booking Terms and Conditions

Workshop and course bookings can be cancelled and refunded up until 7 days before the scheduled start date. Our workshops support the work we do as a charity, and because materials and equipment are ordered in advance, we regret that refunds cannot be offered less than 7 days before the workshop date. Please note that Eventbrite's booking fee is non-refundable.

We can offer the option to transfer to another course or transfer your ticket to a friend or relative in the event that you can’t attend due to Covid-19.

In the event that The Art House needs to cancel a workshop for any reason, for example due to tutor illness or if lockdown measures are put back in place your ticket will be refunded in full.
