Pop Farm Urban Gardening
Event Information
About this Event
The purpose of the project is to make gardening more accessible to local people, educating, informing and sharing food growing knowledge in the community. We do this by showcasing how it is possible to grow edible and ornamental plants in an urban environment and how much beauty it adds to the space.
Join us at Pop Farm an urban garden sitting in central Brixton. Starting at 10am we will be gardening on site, tending to our edible and ornamental sections of the site.
We have all kinds of interesting plants growing including African Blue Basil, Black Krim Tomatos, Palm trees, Amalanchier and Lomquats.
Maintaining this green oasis involves a range of tasks, suitable for all levels offering a unique chance to learn new skills and knowledge in:
- Caring for edible plants from seed sowing, pricking out, planting out and harvesting
- Caring for ornamental plants including pruning, tying in and taking cuttings
All welcome! Join us on Thursday mornings (10am - 11:30am)
Keeping everyone safe is our top priority and we therefore ask all volunteers to agree to abide by our Community Volunteer Guidelines before coming onto site. If you are having trouble booking, or you would like to discuss bringing a group to the orchard, please get in touch: info@urbangrowth.london
