POP INTO THE FOREST – POP25 PRIMARY SCHOOL SESSION

This year, as part of Protecting our Planet Day (POP25), join the team at the Eden Project, Cornwall to explore tropical rainforests in this interactive session designed especially for primary school learners.

Join a live broadcast from the Rainforest Biome with an introduction to Eden – its mission, the physical site and the construction of the iconic biomes.

Learn about the locations of the world’s Tropical Rainforests and go on the trail of the Eden Project’s tropical trees.

Using Eden’s stunning tree collection, explore the vital role that trees play in the environment, how they help protect the planet and discover examples of our dependency on them.

Understand fundamental plant processes, such as transpiration and photosynthesis.

Discover simple ways we can all play a part in Tropical Rainforest conservation - wherever we live.

This session is part of Protecting Our Planet Day 25 (POP25), the inspiring live-streamed event for schools brought to you by the UK Space Education Office (ESERO-UK) at STEM Learning and in collaboration with the European Space Agency and the UK Space Agency.

An audience of over 140,000 joined POP24 last November for a programme of live link-ups with inspirational experts working to tackle climate change and the restoration of nature, interactive primary school sessions, and career journeys from studying STEM to protecting our planet.

This year we are adding even more enlightening sessions for you to pop in across the day - all featuring live Q&A with POP25 experts around the world!

Discover how space agencies, satellites, scientists and pioneering conservation programmes work to protect our planet - how they monitor, model, predict and provide solutions to tackle climate change and protect biodiversity across the globe.

Once again, we are delighted to partner with the Eden Project, Cornwall to create this fantastic session presented by Robbie Kirkman and Tom Last from their Education Team. They teach in one of the world’s most inspirational ‘classrooms’.

Robbie shares what it's like to be part of Eden and how the team play their part in protecting our planet:
