Exciting young opera company Pop-up Opera perform two brilliant one act comedies intertwined, Donizetti’s Rita and Pergolesi's La Serva Padrona, in the amazing light and airy warehouse space known as the Dalston Department Store. Pop-up Opera have been touring their brilliant and highly acclained productions in unconventional venues across the country, such as bars, barns and boats and caves. Instead of a formal theatre environment, the intimate venue makes for a much more direct connection with the singers and the music, something even seasoned opera-goers often miss. Directed by Darren Royston, who has been praised for his dynamic use of movement in opera, the production is uniquely adapted to each venue. Unmissable.
