Play ska/dub/punk with a progressive edge. Impossible to tie down and with enough energy to power a small city, their songs drag you through punk, two-tone, rock, hip-hop, reggae, drum & bass, dub, metal and more.

Renowned for their energetic live shows, they have amassed a loyal following over the years. Since 2011, Popes have released 3 well-received albums, 2 EPs, toured the UK with US legends Fishbone, Voodoo Glow Skulls & The Slackers as well as doing extensive headline touring of their own across the UK & Europe.

“They waste no time in redeeming their rightful place as one of the most diverse and complex beings in the punk genre ... Their ability to completely surprise you at every turn and provide tune after tune is incredible and massively admirable.” - The Cozy Chronicles

From Brighton played the last Popes show in Guildford and we had to bring them back.

A band seriously committed to bringing hard reggae, ska, dub and punk rhythms together in a fresh style. The band have a passion and organic togetherness crafted through years of writing and performing with each other. Clara Byrne's mesmerising lead vocals cut through like a wave of emotion, her lyrical integrity straight from the soul, with serious social and political issues explored through dramatic delivery. From hard steppers to traditional ska, furious punk and sprinklings of soul, Dakka Skanks come with the style and always bring the dance.

Also from Brighton who were a late addition to Undercover Festival 10 in April and they also had to be brought back as soon as possible to an Undercover stage.

The FreeDub Press a six-piece outfit that cross dub, reggae, ska and hip-hop. FreeDub are all about their political message, listing Chomsky and the Zeitgeist Movement amongst their many non-musical influences. It’s certainly not the first time a strong political message has been set to bouncing reggae and ska, but it’s a style that FreeDub wholeheartedly embody. Undeniable feel, fast-paced and expressive lyrical delivery, groove-heavy bass lines and some lovely saxophone melodies are just the icing on this perfectly baked band-cake. Musically tight, politically on point and sure to get you skanking.
