Meet the panel

Economic Development Minister, Deputy Kirsten Morel

Born and raised in St Lawrence, Deputy Morel has spent most of his life in Jersey, where he lives with his wife and daughter. First elected in 2018 and re-elected in 2022 to represent Trinity, St Lawrence and St John, he became Minister for Economic Development in 2023.

A former PR professional, he also ran a content business specialising in technology and finance, writing for companies and magazines worldwide. A graduate of Birmingham University, Strasbourg University and the Open University, Deputy Morel says he is passionate about tackling Jersey’s economic challenges, strengthening community ties - locally and with France - and securing a sustainable future for Jersey.
