About this event
It’s no exaggeration that the class of 2020 have been dealt a tough hand. Which is why, together with G . F Smith, we’re inviting you to meet and share your portfolios in progress with industry creatives working across design, creative and art direction at agencies and brands like Google, Anyways, and ON ROAD. This is a chance to ask questions, get some advice and more. Read on to find out how to take part.
Putting together a portfolio during a global pandemic is no easy feat. We know that many of you have battled with a lack of resources, access to studios or simply feeling confident in your work. As a result, you might not have produced the work you wanted, or to the standard you wanted.
But that’s exactly why we’re here to help. So if you’re feeling a little stressed, stuck, or feel like your work’s not up to scratch, don’t sweat it. We welcome all your work in progress, and our group of industry professionals are on hand to offer their guidance and advice.
Remember that despite it all, in the face of a global pandemic, the class of 2020 still beat the odds. See this as a chance to get excited, inspired and feel more confident in the abilities you undoubtedly have.

How will it work?
The session will take place over Zoom on Wednesday 5th August, from 5pm to 8PM BST. In breakout rooms of three, you will get the opportunity to have your work reviewed by several of the industry creatives throughout the evening.
Please remember that your work doesn’t need to absolutely perfect, so whether you want to get advice on how to present a project, pick up some tips on writing a great caption, or anything in between, this session is the perfect opportunity to make connections, meet other grads and get feedback as you finesse and sharpen up your portfolio.
Please note that the session is open to those graduating from creative BA and MA courses this summer (suited to those specialised in design, advertising, illustration and photography).
How to get involved
• Register your interest by Tuesday 28th July via the link; due to limited capacity, we will get in contact with applicants once numbers are confirmed.
• You must be graduating from a creative BA or MA course this summer: simply add your course and uni details.
• We are charging a £5 deposit to confirmed applicants, which will be returned the day after the event. This is so we can ensure attendance and avoid anyone missing out on unfilled spots.
We cannot wait to connect with you all, and see your brilliant work.
