Portrait Life Drawing in Bristol
Overview
Life Drawing in Bristol comes to Whiteladies Road for relaxed, untutored session focussing on faces and portraiture.
Our live models will be fully clothed, and will turn to face different angles to mix things up during the 90 minutes, with breakfs here and there. You'll be seated close to the models for a great view of their beautiful faces, and you're welcome to move around the room.
All materials are provided inclusing paper, charcoal, pencils and drawing boards so you just need to bring your lovely self along!
About Us
Life Drawing in Bristol, ran by Bristol artist Beth Kirby, has been running for over 5 years in Stokes Croft, and we're known for our calm, relaxed space, amazing models and free materials. In 2026, we've decided to return to the Whitmore Tap on a monthly basis for a new portrait session!
The Whitmore Tap is a beautiful pub directly opposite Clifton Down train station, and we'll be setting up in a intimate, private event space for this session. The pub is of course open before and after for drinks and food, and we'll have a break in the session.
The Essentials
- The class is at The Whitmore Tap Pub, Whiteladies Road, BS8 2PH
- It starts at 7pm and finishes at 8:30pm, with a couple of short breaks during the session, and a 15 minute break in the middle.
- ALL abilities welcome. The class is not tutored, but if you'd like some help or guidance, just ask.
- Our live model will be clothed
- We have paper, pencils, charcoal, erasers and sharpeners which are free to use. We strongly encourage you to bring along any other materials you'd like.
- The event is ticket only - you can only buy them here!
- We also run weekly figure drawing sessions in Stokes Croft, which you can check out here.
