Description

Master the art of portrait photography! This intermediate level photography course will look at the technical and aesthetic aspects of portrait photography. We will explore appropriate camera settings and you will be given advice on essential equipment needed for this type of shooting. You will have the opportunity to experiment with a variety of lighting set ups - natural light, ambient light, studio light, built in flash / external flash, remote flash, reflected light and using a reflector.

There will be advice in directing the subject, postures and posing techniques, creating spontaneous or staged images and telling stories through portraiture. We will look at historical and contemporary image makers and there will be ongoing support and feedback.

A model will be available to photograph during 2 sessions.

This course is suitable for people who have some photographic experience. You will need to bring your own camera with a manual setting and have a basic understanding of how to use it e.g. ISO, shutter speed and aperture.
