Anatomy for Portrait Drawing

Themes covered: This class highlights the importance of understanding the structure and anatomy of the head and how it relates to the upper torso. Artists will be taught to recognise and draw the major planes and various positions of the head.

15th October, 6:30-9:30pm

Light and Shadow in Portrait Drawing

Themes covered: Understanding the logic and ways that light describes form and creates a range of shadows is a key idea in portraiture. Artists will be taught how to interpret and describe shadow, light, and mid tone shapes and will be guided towards simplifying the complex range of light and shadow shapes.
