About this event

I Am ME is an exciting arts project for children in Goole. Funded by a Project Grant from Arts Council England This project runs from July - December 2025 and provides children with the opportunity to express themselves through creative writing and portraits.

In this exciting FREE workshop, we will be showing children how to be experimental and expressive in creating their own self portraits to show their identity using words and art. Children will be shown how to create a self portrait drawing using pencils, pens and pastels. They will also have the opportunity to explore their personality through words. All work created will be featured in an art exhibition at Goole Art Gallery and Museum in December 2025!

This session is aimed at ages 5+ years. *This is an age guide for suitability purposes. Target age group is 5 - 10 years.

Work will be collected by us at the end of each session, but we can take postal adrress details to return original artwork to you (at no cost to you) in January 2026. We know how much chidren love to show their work to friends and family, so all chidren will be given a mini photo of their work, printed and mounted in a display card to share and show. Work will be exhibited at Goole gallery and museum in December 2025, we will also be holding a preview evening open to all participants and their friends/family - details to be provided at or after the event.

IMPORTANT - these sessios are free, but places are limited, Please book if you have every intention of atteding. If you book and accnot attend, please let us know and we can offer the place to another child on the waiting list (email us at threadandpressgmail.com)
