Portraits for fun - Taster Sessions
Mon 19 December 2016, 18:30 – 21:00 GMT
Come and join me for an informal and relaxed evening of basic portrait painting. Suitable for a complete beginner, these sessions teach you a simple and easy way to create a portrait from a reference photograph. These classes are perfect if you want to come and try your hand at a new leisure hobby or want to simply expand your own artistic journey.
*NOTE - you will be provided with a reference photograph and taught the basics of creating that photo. No still life or measuring will be used.
It will include step by step demonstrations of painting techniques and plenty of one to one tuition to support you as you work.
A selection of very basic materials are available on the evening, however if you wish to bring your own, you will need the following -
- A4 canvas/canvas board
- Acrylic paints. A minimum palette would be ultramarine, cobolt, burnt umber, burnt sienna, alizarin crimson, lemon yellow and viridian WHITE AND BLACK
- A selection of brushes such as a ¾” flat or filbert, a No 8 round and a No 4 round (with a fine point) and a No 0 for very fine detailing
- Also an HB pencil, Graphite stick
Light refreshments are included
There is a large selection of portraits to choose from or you can bring your own pieces to continue from previous classes, or challenge yourself with something new.
Other leisure classes are available.
All of the above can be sourced from Phil at Northwich Art shop, or contact me if you need some help
I look forward to seeing you all
