Event description

Description

Eliot Smith's newest creation comes to The Holy Biscuit as part of a triple bill. PORTRAITS OF COURAGE which is inspired by the genius and courage of four great Northerners; Baron William Armstrong, George Stephenson, Grace Darling and Emily Wilding Davison.

MOONLIGHT depicts one couple's passion as they explore the strength of their growing love for each other under the moonlight in a vivid and powerful pas de deux, set to Luca D'Alberto's Screaming Silence.

Eliot's hugely popular PITMAN, returns with the premiere of three new sections; The Miner, Progging the Mat and The Xmas Tree. It tells the story of the miners and their community through dance interpretations of the paintings of the Pitmen Painters that are on permanent exhibition at Woodhorn Museum.

The evening will also feature a special curtain raiser by six pupils from Newcastle's St. Catherine’s Primary School. The pupils will perform ALONE NO MORE by Eliot Smith made earlier this year for The Late Shows 2017 and set to Hanging D by Joep Beving.
