Event description

Description

Staff are invited to attend a presentation detailing which parts of Portsmouth are facing a serious problem with air quality - including areas around University buildings.

The talk by Portsmouth City Council transport planners Hayley Chivers and Kirsty Routledge will detail which city locations are exceeding government guidelines, the negative impact on people’s health, and what measures are being looked at to improve air quality to avoid having to introduce a clean air zone charge in the city.

The talk was arranged following a request from staff during the recent car parking consultation. It will take place ahead of national Clean Air Day (20 June) when workers and residents will be encouraged to walk, cycle, use public transport, Park & Ride or car share.

The talk will include a 30-minute presentation before opening the floor to questions.

Teas, coffees and biscuits will be provided.
