Event description

Description

As part of the University of Chester's Equality and Diversity festival, Young Women's Trust and the University of Chester are proud to develop the Positive Action at Work? conference.

This is a collaborative project between Young Women's Trust and University of Chester to explore measures to address gender segregation in apprenticeships and beyond.

Following the launch of Equality at work: Positive Action in gender segregated apprenticeships in 2018, this event seeks to discuss the research findings and impact of this on business and explore implications for employees, employers and sector bodies.

Positive Action is a chronically under-utilised as a tool to address gender segregation due to a misunderstanding of what it is and how it can be used. This is acting as a barrier to addressing the under-representation of women in key sectors within apprenticeships and beyond. This conference will discuss these barriers and more importantly, what can be done to address them.

This event is relevant for industry leaders, policy makers, employers and sector bodies who wish to create a more diverse and gender-balanced workplace.
