About this event
This seminar offers a comprehensive exploration of challenging behaviour, its root causes, and the most effective strategies to respond and de-escalate safely. Grounded in both theory and real-world application, participants will examine types of violence and aggression, the legal context, and ethical responsibilities. With a strong emphasis on Positive Behaviour Support, functional analysis, and person-centred approaches, the course equips professionals with essential tools to respond proactively and compassionately.
Why It Matters
Understanding behaviour is the first step in managing it. When practitioners are confident in identifying triggers, applying de-escalation techniques, and using risk assessments effectively, they create safer, more responsive environments. This seminar bridges theory with practice—helping participants reduce incidents of harm, improve individual outcomes, and maintain regulatory compliance across care, education, and support settings.
Course Highlights
– Recognising and responding to various forms of violence and aggression
– De-escalation strategies that are practical, ethical, and trauma-informed
– Legal considerations and safeguarding responsibilities
– Functional analysis and the use of positive behaviour planning tools
– Building consistent, person-centred responses to challenging behaviour
