Event description

Description

A parent’s illness is one of the most difficult challenges a child can face. Life at home changes overnight and nothing is the same anymore! In this interactive workshop we will support you to make sense of it all, how to best help your children understand, cope and accept your illness.

The workshop will include a variety of strategies that can help you communicate with your child while maintaining routines and connection during the course of your illness.

We will explore discipline styles that you can be comfortable with, and effective ways to communicate in a positive way that will help create more of the good behavior you crave and less of the behavior that drives you round the bend…!

Our aims:-

  • Tackling challenges with a positive and sensitive approach
  • Providing structure and creating fair boundaries
  • To show you how to use effective praise to increase the behavior you want to see more of
  • To show you how to use commands in a way that doesn’t require shouting or nagging
  • To create happy parents and happy kids

Potential outcomes:

  • Finding alternatives to the naughty step that you can be proud of
  • Getting rid of those shouting matches and stand offs
  • Reducing any tension in your household
  • Developing more respect for each other
  • Feeling empowered to be a great parent
  • Creating a calmer and more connected home

Looking forward to seeing you at this interactive talk.
