Positive Persons' Forum 2017
Sat 1 July 2017, 10:00 – 17:00 BST
The Positive Persons' Forum is an annual one day conference in Scotland for people living with HIV. It creates a space for positive people to connect with other people living with HIV, to hear the latest on topics relevant to them, and to identify shared concerns, issues and priorities for change.
The Forum is co-produced by a steering group made up of people living with HIV and HIV Scotland and aims to be informative, engaging and, supportive.
Why you need to be there:
The Positive Persons' Forum brings together people living with HIV from across Scotland to set the agenda for change in Scotland on HIV issues and to hear from experts about issues ranging from human rights to the search for a cure. The aim is for those attending to meet and inspire one another, and to unite the voice of people living with HIV in Scotland so it's heard right across the country by decision makers and service providers.
Join us for updates and discussions on a range of topics including:
The latest information on HIV treatment
Am I uninfectious? What does it mean to be undetectable?
What does PrEP mean for people living with HIV?
Ageing: Something to celebrate?
It's a free event for everyone living with HIV. Do come along and listen, share your experiences and views, and help identify what must change in Scotland to make sure the needs of people living with HIV are met.
Each year a Positive Persons' Manifesto is published which captures the thoughts and discussions of the day and presents calls for change from those people attending the conference. You can see 2016's Manifesto here.
The 2017 forum will take place on 1st July 2017 in central Glasgow (we' will give you details when you register), and will run from 10.30am - 4.30pm. Registration is open from 10:00. People are invited for drink afterwards so please feel free to stick around and socialise with others from the conference and the HIV Scotland staff.
This is the only national conference for people living with HIV together in Scotland and it is open to anyone living with HIV. We therefore ask that family members, partners, carers, support staff, etc, do not attend, unless you are unable to attend without this support.
HIV Scotland are not a service provision organisation and we cannot therefore organise support for you to attend. If you need support to attend please contact a local support organistion to see if they can provide you with the support you need. If you do need support to attend please let HIV Scotland know.
The event is free but registration is essential, so book now. Support for travel and childcare costs is available.
There are limited places, so register early to avoid disappointment.
