Positive Relationships at the Heart of Scotland - Parliamentary Event
Tuesday, 25 November 2014 from 17:45 to 20:00 (GMT)
Hosted by Relationships Scotland and sponsored by Christina McKelvie MSP, this Parliamentary event is a celebration of the glue that holds us together - loving, strong, healthy relationships. The evening is a chance to meet and hear from partners working together to champion professional relationship support within Scotland. Enjoy some excellent food, network, hear from our range of speakers and join in the discussions in Committee Room 3.
We will hear from Aileen Campbell MSP, Minister for Children and Young People, on how professional family support can help make Scotland the best place in the world to grow up. There will be insight from Stuart Valentine, Chief Executive of Relationships Scotland on the state of relationships within the UK following our recent research launched in partnership with Relate. We will also hear from frontline staff and service users on the need for family mediation, relationship counselling and child contact centres across the country. Sarah Morton of the Centre for Research on Families and Relationships (CRFR) will give an overview of the latest social research on families and relationships - looking at the need we all have for healthy, positive relationships. The evening will finish with an open discussion chaired by Pamela Gordon, Chair of Relationships Scotland, and a chance to hear from some of the innovative work being carried out by organisations like Dads Rock.
The hashtag for the event is #PositiveRelationships.
