Free exercise taster day in Ely for people with Parkinson’s

Parkinson’s UK is hosting exercise and therapy sessions for people living with Parkinson’s in Cambridgeshire. The free taster day is aimed to help people manage the symptoms of the condition, and to find out what exercise classes they would like provided on a regular basis.

The session will take place on Friday 14th July from 10.30 – 3pm. The day will comprise of taster workshops on Singing, Seated Exercise, Mindfulness, Laughter Yoga, a Re-cycled material Craft Workshop, Library services and the range of services, how you can access them and save yourself money on subscriptions and magazines. There is a talk about the research behind exercise, and a talk and practical demonstration of evidence based exercises to help improve strength and balance.

Lunch and refreshments are included for a small donation of £2.50 payable on the day.

Research has shown some promising results of the benefits of exercise for people living with Parkinson’s including improvements in mobility and balance.
