Event description
“Our Little Poland” is a coming-of-age documentary that follows the life of a group of Japanese students learning Polish language & culture

About this Event

Every year a group of a dozen or so Japanese students decide to sign up for Polish Language and Culture Studies at the University of Tokyo. One of the compulsory tasks for second-year students is to stage a play in Polish.

The documentary is not only about learning the Polish language and the word kiełbasa being hard to pronounce. It also observes how young people imagine adult life and how their projections clash with reality. Matej Bobrik’s film has the bittersweet taste of growing up.

Film will be shown with English subtitles

(Running time 1h10m)

This screening is part of the 18th Polish Film Festival KINOTEKA organised by the Polish Cultural Institute in London.
