Event description

Description

We are working with Matthew Brown to hold an Ideas Lunch around how Brigstow might address global challenges in post-conflict societies in Latin America and Africa, explore the potential for future GCRF bids and discuss how our research in these areas can feed into the UoB Building Global Partnerships for Global Challenges Conference on 11-13 April 2018.

The lunch will be held from 12-2 on Friday 26th January in Link Room 2, 3-5 Woodland Road. We have been informed that the venue is accessible. Further details can be found in this Disabled Go report (please see the section for Outside Access (Entrance from 3-5 Woodland Road).

Post-conflict societies in Latin America and Africa have yet to achieve a socially-inclusive development model. Most of the world’s most unequal societies are found in these two regions, which share the legacies of colonialism and the continued prevalence of violence in many areas of life. The aim of the Ideas Lunch is to broaden the conversation across the university and beyond, establish new networks and so bring different views and perspectives to the apparently age-old and intractable problem of inequality and social division.

If you are interested in this event but unable to attend, please contact Matthew Brown.
