Teacher Insight/Networking Event – Financial and Professional Services Industry

Teachers are invited to attend an event organised in collaboration with CCEA and Invest Northern Ireland to provide insight into the Financial and Related Professional Services Industry. This will be held in W5, SSE Arena, Belfast on 22 November 2019 from 9.00 am – 2.00 pm.

Intended Audience

This session is open to teachers in the following subject areas: Careers, Business Studies and Professional Business Services. It will also be of interest to ICT and Maths teachers. One teacher per subject area is invited to attend.

Background

  • This event delivered by companies in the Financial & Related Professional Services industry, aims to provide teachers of related subjects and careers advisors with information about the wide range of exciting and lucrative careers within Northern Ireland’s growing Financial & Related Professional Services sector.
  • This industry in Northern Ireland has grown rapidly in recent years and now employs almost 40,000 people in a wide range of roles across many different business areas including Banking, Insurance, Funds, Legal Services, Accountancy, Consultancy and Technology.
  • A host of global industry leaders and outstanding local talent have all established bases in Northern Ireland and will be available on the day to discuss opportunities within the sector including Allen & Overy, Allstate, Axiom Managed Solutions, Citi, CME Group, Deloitte, First Derivatives, FSCOM, Grant Thornton, Herbert Smith Freehills, Liberty Mutual, Spence & Partners and TPICAP.

Purpose of the session

  • To learn about careers of the future in the Financial and Professional Services sector - an industry which is actively seeking applicants.
  • To provide you with up to date knowledge on this growing sector including:
    • Entry points
    • Career paths
    • Employment prospects
    • Networking opportunity with companies.
  • Representatives from across the Financial & Professional Services sector including legal services, financial technology and accounting will be available to answer your questions and provide some insights into the skills and attributes they are looking for from the future workforce.

How to Book a Place

Registration for this event is now open. Places are limited and will be allocated on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. One teacher per subject area is invited to attend this session. Please note each teacher must register separately.
