Postdoc Lunchtime talks Series: What can Public Engagement do for you?
Wed 22 March 2017, 12:30 – 13:30 GMT
Funders are increasingly asking researchers and Universities to engage the public with research – but why is it so important, who are the ‘public’ and what’s in it for you as a researcher?
Dr Charlotte Carroll from the Research Strategy Office will speak about the drivers behind public engagement and what the University is doing to support researchers, including the upcoming Public Engagement with Research Awards which are designed to recognise excellence in public engagement at any career stage.
This will be followed by a Q&A session for you to raise any questions about how postdocs can get engaged in public events or promote their own research to wider audiences.
Lunch will be provided.
