Description

If you are thinking about postgraduate taught or research study, the Postgraduate Open Day will give you the opportunity to find out about applying, funding, careers, university life and the city. You’ll also be able to explore our beautiful campus and check out the student services.


The day will be split into two parts:


Postgraduate Taught Open Day

If you are thinking of studying a taught Masters course at the University of Dundee then come along between 2pm and 6pm, you'll be able to hear more about the University of Dundee and meet representatives from your chosen subject area.


PhD and Research Open Evening

If you have already completed a Masters course or just interested in the research areas at the University, between 5pm and 7pm we'll be able to tell you why the University of Dundee is a great choice for you.

On the day - Postgraduate Taught Open Day


Registration
14:00 - 15:30

You'll find us at the front door of the Dalhousie building next to the Information Fair. We'll be running registration all day and so if you just want to visit to meet your subject, or stay for the whole day, you're welcome to visit when it suits you.


Information Fair
14:00 - 15:30 and 17:00 - 18:00

Come and find out more about life at the University of Dundee, with stalls from our Student Services, Visa and Immigration, Accommodation, Careers Service, Student's Union and Student Finance.


Forensic Art & Facial Identification and Medical Art MSc tour
14:00 - 15:00

Dr Caroline Erolin, course leader of Medical Art, will be able to provide an in depth view of both courses in addition to providing a tour of our facilities both within Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design and the Centre for Anatomy and Human Identification.


Campus Tours
14:15 - 14:45

Leaving from the front of the Dalhousie Building, our Campus Tours will show you our city centre campus, including the gym facilities, Student's Union, accommodation and library.


Student Panels
14:30 - 15:00

You'll be able to hear first hand what it's like to study a Postgraduate Taught course at the University of Dundee by speaking to current Postgraduate students studying at the University. Ask questions ranging from the workload at masters level to why Dundee is in the top 10 for student satisfaction!


Welcome, Admissions and Finance Talk (Postgraduate Taught)
15:30 - 16:00

Hear from our admissions team at the University who will guide you through the admissions process for our Masters courses, followed by a look at the Postgraduate support you may be eligible to receive from the Student's Awards Agency for Scotland.


Meet your Subjects
16:00 - 17:00

We realise that choosing which Masters course to study can be a difficult choice, and so take the opportunity to hear from academics in your field of interest to find out why studying at the University of Dundee could be the best choice you've made.



On the day - Postgraduate Research Open Evening


Registration and Information Fair
17:00 - 17:30

We'll have registration open from 16.30 in the Dalhousie Building Foyer, located next to the information fair on the ground floor.Once you register you can visit the Information Fair beside registration, where you can meet representatives of the University from Accommodation to Student Services.


Welcome and Admissions Talk (PhD and PGR Study)
17:30 - 18:00

Find out more about how to apply for our PhD and Postgraduate Research courses from our admissions team at the University of Dundee.


Cheese and Wine Reception
18:00 - 19:00

Once the Welcome and Admissions talk is finished, you are invited to join academic and supervisory staff to find out more about the research options in your area of interest, this will be taking place on the Mezzanine level of the Dalhousie Building.



When you arrive


On arrival, please make your way to the registration point at Dalhousie Foyer on campus to pick up your Open Day programme with a map and any additional notes you may need to help you during your visit.

To help speed up registration, we ask to bring your Eventbrite confirmation with you – either printed or your smartphone / tablet.
