Event description
Over the three days this summer school will look to explore the themes of Race, Colonialism & Resistance.

About this Event

Following on from our summer schools held in 2018 at SOAS and 2019 at BSix this summer, Consented Youth and the Knowledge is Power Programme will be hosting a three-day summer school from the 27th-29th of July at B6 Sixth Form College in Clapton.

Each day attendees will be able to choose to attend concurrent workshops held in three different rooms based on their interests. The focus of the workshops will be to encourage healthy discussion and debate amongst participants. More broadly we will also aim to provide practical solutions and resources for interested teachers who want to pilot similar projects or start related discussions in their own schools.

This event is targeted at young people, primarily those who are currently in secondary school or those who have recently left. It is also open to those who are enrolled in Higher Education and interested members of the public. If you are a teacher or youth worker and wish to bring a group along please email consenteduk@gmail.com.

Speakers include:

*Full programme to be released shortly*

Consented Youth is a youth project that runs weekly sessions as part of a supplementary curriculum for sixth formers at schools in South and East London on Race, Class & Colonialism and on British Civil Rights history. We are also designing a Key Stage 3 History Unit on British Civil Rights for a school in South London.
