SCRAPweapons and the British American Security Information Council (BASIC) present DISARMAMENT DIALOGUE: An evening of active conversation surrounding disarmament, facilitated by prominent academic speakers.


Barriers and Opportunities for Establishing a Weapons of Mass Destruction Free Zone in the Middle East.

Friday 8th of February, 5-8pm, Alumni Lecture Theatre (Paul Webley Wing, SOAS University of London)

Our panel of speakers will give short presentations on their specialist areas, followed by smaller working groups which will address some of the main challenges facing disarmament in the Middle East region.

Speakers:

Paul Ingram is director of BASIC, and a key figure of expertise in the global disarmament debate.

Hassan Elbahtimy joins us from King's College London's department of War Studies, where he is a lecturer on Science and Security.

Tony Robinson is co-director of international press agency Pressenza, and is a member of the International Humanist Party and World without Wars & Violence.
