POSTPONED: New data challenges from climate and environment research
Event Information
Description
This event has been postponed, due to the Coronavirus.
This one-day workshop, funded by Turing at Southampton, aims to bring together people working on methodological aspects of data science (including statistics, machine learning and artificial intelligence) and researchers in climate and environmental sciences. It is open to all researchers from both communities who are looking to form new collaborations.
The day will begin with a series of 15 minute talks, to introduce some of the methodology which is useful for climate and environmental sciences.
We are seeking contributions in the form of lightning talks (at most 3 minutes and 2 slides) from researchers in climate and environmental sciences who have collected data to answer questions in their research, or are planning to collect such data. The registration form gives you the option to contribute such a talk. Lightning talks should briefly introduce your data and the questions you are trying to answer from it, enabling more detailled discussions with others later in the day, in the time set aside for networking.
