Introduction to Hand building

Six-week course 6 x 2hour sessions

Over the six weeks, Ceramic Artist Karen Dawn Curtis will guide you step by step through two basic techniques of hand-building. Over the six projects, you will learn new skills building your confidence in the material, while having fun. 

By the end of the six weeks, you will have made six clay objects including a salt caddy, cute cottage and a coiled vase. All the work will be taken away to be glazed fired and will be ready for collection within a month of the course.

This workshop is suitable for beginners or those with some experience of clay. The price of the workshop includes all materials needed to make set projects, tools and two firings along with all clay pieces being glazed by Karen.

Karen Dawn Curtis’ workshops will look to create a relaxing environment where your imagination and creativity will be given space to thrive. Aprons will be provided but it is advised that participants wear clothes they are happy to get a little clay on. This includes all materials needed to make the set projects, firings and expert tuition.
