This seasonal workshop for all ages, is suitable for both those with and without experience
We will use various items, such as lace, leaves, pine branches etc. to print/ impress textures into the porcelain, to create truly individual items.
In this 2.5 hour session Tina will give guidance on how to handle the porcelain, which you will roll & cut using your preferred templates. You will then use textures to impress pattern, and tools to trim and tidy.
At the end of the workshop you will have six pieces.
All materials and tools will be provided and the Kiln-firing & glaze/finish materials are included in the fee. All you need is to wear old clothes & an apron
At the end of the workshop your pieces will be :
- taken back to Tina's studio to be dried ( +/- 3/4 days)
- fired in a kiln 'bisque' firing (24 hours)
- a clear glaze applied by Tina
- fired again for a 24 hour 'glaze' firing.
Overall the process takes approx 2 weeks.
Your creations will be available for collection later (at Tina's studio in Shaldon) to be arranged with you on the day. If you need your items to be posted, this will be at extra cost
Parking: there are both short and long term car parks in Shaldon, the venue is in the centre of the village within easy walking distance of both car parks.
Toilets are on site
Refreshments: Tea & coffee and soft drinks provided
Accessibility: The venue is on the ground floor, with a ramp entrance, but for any individual needs, please contact Tina in advance to discuss: tina@shaldonpotterystudio.com
Please note those under 14 years of age must be accompanied for the duration of the workshop by an adult
Cancellations/refunds: Should there be cancellations meaning the workshop is no longer viable to run, or the whole event cancelled for any other reason , you will be offered the next available date/time or a full refund
- If you can no longer attend and let me know at least seven days before the event, you will be refunded the ticket price, minus the Eventbrite admin fees (approx 10% of the ticket price) .
- Any refunds after the seven day cut off will be refunded if we manage to fill the space
