This ten-week pottery course is term time only. Thursday 5pm - 7pm
Unleash your creativity in a fun learning environment! Whether it is objects for the home, garden or gifts for friends, this course will equip you with skills to help you craft your own pottery.
What Will I Learn:
- Slab Building,
- Coiling
- Pinch Pots
- Using Press Moulds,
- Decoration Techniques using Slips, underglazes and texture
- Making and Decorating with Stamps and Sprigs
- Glazing
- How to Throw a Pot on a Potter’s Wheel
If you are already familiar with pottery you can develop existing skills and receive guidance on any personal projects you may be working on.
Material Costs:
The cost of materials are included in the course fee, however some larger projects or if using a large amount of clay (per session) may incur an additional charge. Before starting, these projects will need to be negotiated with the tutor.
What to Bring/Wear
- To make the most of your learning, it is recommended to bring a notebook and pen.
- Please wear old clothing or bring along an apron
- Closed toe boots or shoes must be worn in the Pottery Workshop
Venue:
- The Built Environment formerly (The Milburn Campus) Anglian Road, Bury St Edmunds, IP32 6SR.
- There is ample parking and easy access for those with mobility needs.
Please note we run all our courses based on a minimum number of participants.
