Come and make this charming traditional German Christmas scene or 'Kurrende'. This is normally carved in wood but Daniela will guide you through the process of modelling all the components in clay.
This workshop is suitable for all abilities so come along and join us for this fun, hands-on activity. There will be two identical workshops starting at 10.30 am and 1.30 pm. When you click on 'Get Tickets', you can choose to book tickets either for the morning or afternoon workshop.
Suitable for age 16+.
What to expect
- During the two-hour session, you will make the village houses, decorating the elevations with simple tools. Then you will make the church, the carol singers, trees and candle holder. You will add the windows, doors and roof details.
- The clay will have to dry and be fired before the glaze is applied; Daniela will apply the glaze for you. This is included in the price.
- You will then be able to collect your finished Christmas village a few weeks later from Eddies Café on a Monday morning at the Storey's Field Centre or at another mutually convenient collection point.
The 2 workshops (10.30-12.30pm and 1.30-3.30pm) are part of Eddington Arts which is at the Storey's Field Centre and runs from 10.30am to 4.30pm. After the workshop, Daniela would be delighted to share with you a traditional, German Christmas bake and you can help yourself to a complimentary drink from Eddie's Community Cafe and enjoy browsing and viewing the work of the 25 participating artists.
