Description

Key note speaker for Session 1:

Mark Wilcock

A Gentle Introduction to Text Analytics

The analysis of text documents is rapidly growing in importance and not just of social media (tweets, reviews) but also for legal, academic and financial documents. We'll look at the basics of text mining; frequency analysis, finding words and phrases specific to one or a few documents in a collection, and topic modelling. We'll analyse a few documents, then visualise the results. We'll use a variety of tools; R, text analytics web services and Power BI.

Bio

Mark Wilcock specialises in the analysis, reporting and visualisation of data. He is based in London. He is a Microsoft MVP on the Data Platform.

Keynote speaker 2 - Ben Howard

This presentation will take data from the UK police service and merge it with other geographic data to display regional crime hotspots in Power BI. Then we will merge it with house price data, and decide if any correlations can be made between the two data sets. This will be an interactive session, demo led, where we will drill into a relevant location by asking the audience for one or more UK postcodes to review.

Ben is a Project Server Consultant at Applepark, MCT and MVP. As a MVP, Ben’s passion has come from the many clients he has worked for configuring, implementing, training and deploying solutions based around Microsoft’s Project, Project Online and SharePoint technologies.
